Olympics to Get Tourists In

Posted On: 2009-01-23

The Vancouver 2010 Olympics will be the main focus of a new $40-million fund to benefit international and domestic tourism programs, as announced in the Federal Budget.

With thousands of international and Canadian media about to descend on our area, all involved are hoping that the Games will recapture some of the tourism traffic that has decreased because of the worldwide financial downturn.

With more money to promote tourism, the Olympics, and Vancouver and area, this is good news for our communities.  Not only should we expect an increase in tourism, and all the financial benefits that comes with more visitors to our region, but our communities will be highlighted as well.  We know that Vancouver and area is a great place to call home, but with this funding the rest of the world will be able to see this as well.

For more information on the proposed funding read an Article in the Vancouver Sun.
