Steveston Real Estate
Steveston, where the Fraser River meets the Pacific Ocean, is a vibrant and growing area in the southwest corner of the City of Richmond; an area where buyers flock for a chance to own a piece of Steveston Real Estate.
Originally an agricultural village, Steveston evolved rapidly to become a very busy fishing port, boasting over a dozen canneries at one time. Though now a growing dynamic urban centre, Steveston retains the village atmosphere, complete with a scenic boardwalk for strolling along the water. Steveston is not only a most desirable place to call home but a definite "must see" tourist destination offering:
- Two National historic sites
- Fresh seafood or fish and chips on the wharf
- Parks, playgrounds, hiking and biking trails
- Kite flying at Garry Point Park
- Farmer's and Artisan's Market
- Outdoor pool and water park
- Beach access
- Excellent local restaurants and unique shops
The area has quickly become a favourite location not only for the real estate but for its numerous amenities. The Steveston Community Centre offers a wide variety of programs and services. Excellent neighbourhood and French immersion schools are situated here. Steveston is host to a Canada Day parade and the world-famous Steveston Salmon Festival, held yearly on July 1st. It is evident from the visitors and residents on the busy streets of the Village that the ambience and charm of Steveston appeals to many.
