Fraserview Real Estate

Fraser Lands Project began as a vision in the late 1980's as industries began moving away from the mighty Fraser River in South Vancouver, below Southeast Marine Drive. The planning began and a new residential neighbourhood was created, taking full advantage of the nature and peacefulness that comes with the opportunities to live within steps of the riverbanks.

The first properties were built in the 1990s, west of Kerr Street. Houses and Townhouses were constructed, often with marine-based architecture and a friendly community emerged. The Canadian White Pine Sawmill was operating a sawmill along the banks of the Fraser, just east of the new residential area. Riverfront Park was established, providing homeowners a private setting in which to explore and enjoy nature and watch the log boom travel the river. A picnic area, biking and walking trails make up this pristine setting for the close community.

The sawmill closed in 2001, paving the way for Vancouver's CityPlan to be implemented East of Kerr Street, now known as River District, or East Fraser Lands. This new development is planned to be a complete ‘walkable' neighbourhood, providing both residential, industrial and services south of Southeast Marine Drive. Water homes are available too and schools and community centres are also planned.

The Fraser Lands are a gem south of a very busy corridor in Vancouver. A beautiful and serene riverfront neighbourhood, hidden on the banks of the mighty Fraser River. The next few years it is predicted that this community will become one of the most sought-after areas of Vancouver.
